Our Commitment to Your Privacy

Welcome to Poppy Ping. Your privacy is the foundation of our service. This policy outlines our firm commitment to protecting the personal information you share with us. Our guiding principle is to collect only what is necessary to provide our service and to handle your data with the utmost care and transparency. We have designed this service to be opt-in only, meaning you are always in control.

1. The Information We Collect (And Nothing More)

We adhere to the principle of data minimization. We only collect the absolute minimum information required to operate our SMS service.

When you voluntarily sign up on our intake form, we collect:

  • Your Name: So we can personalize our messages to you.
  • Your Mobile Phone Number: So we can send you the SMS messages you requested.

That's it. We do not collect any other personal information, such as your location, email address, IP address, or any data from your device. We do not use cookies or tracking technologies in our SMS service.

2. How We Use Your Information

The information we collect is used for one purpose and one purpose only: to provide you with the SMS messaging service you opted into.

Specifically, we use your name and phone number to:

  • Send you the informational or alert messages that are the core function of Poppy Ping
  • Address you by name in our communications.
  • Respond to your direct inquiries or service messages (e.g., if you reply "HELP").

We will never use your information for:

  • Marketing or Analytics: Your data is not used for marketing analytics, user profiling, or any other analytical purpose.
  • Selling or Renting: We will never sell, rent, lease, or give away your personal information to any third party for their marketing purposes. This is a core promise of our service.

3. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not share your information, except in two very limited circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We use a third-party communications platform to transmit SMS messages to your phone. This provider is a data processor acting on our behalf. They are contractually obligated to only use your phone number to send the messages we direct them to send and to maintain the confidentiality and security of your data. They are prohibited from using your data for any other purpose.
  • Legal Obligation: If required by law, such as in response to a subpoena, court order, or other valid legal process, we may disclose your information. We will only do so after careful review and only to the extent required by law.

4. Your Control and Your Rights

You have complete control over your information.

  • Opting Out: You can stop receiving messages from us at any time. Simply reply STOP to any message you receive from us. You will be immediately unsubscribed from all future communications.
  • Accessing or Correcting Your Information: If you need to view or correct the name or phone number we have on file, please contact us at dccnsdirector@gmail.com.
  • Deleting Your Information: You may request the permanent deletion of your information at any time by contacting us at dccnsdirector@gmail.com. Upon receiving your request, we will erase your name and phone number from our active systems.

5. Data Retention

We retain your name and phone number only for as long as you are subscribed to our service. If you choose to opt out by replying STOP or request deletion, we will permanently delete your information from our active databases within a reasonable timeframe (e.g., 30 days), unless we are required by law to retain it for a longer period.

6. Data Security

We take the security of your information very seriously. We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your name and phone number from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, please note that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
